Building the Future: Coach Eddie Reflects on the Growth of Ball Game Academy’s Elite Basketball Program

There’s nothing more rewarding than watching a young athlete grow—on and off the court. When I started Ball Game Academy, I dreamed of building a program that would empower kids to not only develop their basketball skills but also their confidence, discipline, and teamwork. Today, I’m blown away by how far we’ve come.
What began as a small group of dedicated players has evolved into one of the most elite basketball programs in the Bay Area. We’ve welcomed athletes from all over—San Jose, Cupertino, Saratoga, and Campbell—and every week, I’m inspired by the passion and drive these kids bring to the game.
From Local Practices to AAU-Level Competition
At Ball Game Academy, we’ve always believed in doing things the right way: high-quality coaching, personalized development, and a focus on long-term growth. That approach has paid off.
This past year, our athletes have made major strides competing at the AAU basketball level, and our tryouts have been more competitive than ever. We now host weekly practices right here in San Jose, where players hone their fundamentals and elevate their game with high-intensity training and real-game scenarios.
Watching these kids improve—some joining our program barely able to dribble, and now executing advanced plays with confidence—is the reason I do what I do.
Community, Growth, and the Journey Ahead
One of the most humbling parts of this journey has been seeing families from all over the South Bay come together under the Ball Game Academy banner. Whether it’s a player from Cupertino mastering their shot mechanics, or a defensive powerhouse emerging from Campbell, every kid brings something unique to our court—and we make it our mission to bring out their best.
Our elite basketball training camps have also seen incredible turnout. From summer sessions to holiday intensives, the energy and enthusiasm have been off the charts. Parents have told us their kids can’t wait to come back, and that’s the biggest compliment we could ever receive.
Looking Ahead: Fall Season and Beyond
As we gear up for the fall basketball season, I couldn’t be more excited. We’ve got some amazing plans in store—from expanded AAU tournament opportunities to skill-specific clinics and, of course, more of our high-impact basketball camps.
